Script writing

he plot of a story consists of five parts:

Exposition (originally called introduction)
Rising action (rise)
Climax
Falling action (return or fall)
Resolution
​Checklist to Scriptwriting and Screen Plays
 
Font: 12 Font Courier
Fade in and Fade out: at the beginning and the end of the scene.
Title page: has the name of the film, authors of the script centered and contact information on the lower left corner.
Characters and Scene Headings: names and headings and all in caps and on separate line.
Scene Heading: is a one line description of the location.
Characters first appearance: give a brief description of the character.
Action of Character: is always in parenthesis.
Page Number: Label each page with a number so it will stay in chronological order. Located 0.5 from the top, flush right.
Dialogue: lines underneath character word for word.
Transition: Film editing instructions (not too detailed)
Tips
Keep it simple
Slug Lines: Location headings should only have 3 pieces of information.
Interiors: are locations set inside of the building, structure or vehicle.
Exterior: are outside
Example: exterior, classroom-day
Camera Angles: no to little camera directions in a script (that is what a shot sheet is for and storyboarding.
